Delegates from Don Bosco Philippine South Province attended the 2023 Philippine Education (PhilEd) Conference organized by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) from December 5-7, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Metro Manila. PhilEd 2023 centered on the theme: “Inspiring Reforms that Transform Philippine Education”.

Don Bosco FIS’ delegation include Fr. Rooney John G. Undar, SDB and Ms. Marie Arrianne A. Diolingo of the CYM-Sector on Schools, Mrs. Estelita H. Duran and Mr. Reylan Calunod of SLS-DB Dumaguete and Fr. Eligio R. Santos, SDB of DBTI-Victorias.

The conference gathered more than 3,000 public and private educators and school administrators from around the country in plenary and concurrent sessions to learn and engage in meaningful discussions on reform initiatives that have the potential to transform the Philippine education system.

Aside from the plenary and concurrent sessions, PhilEd 2023 featured the Educational Leadership Exchange, an online activity that gathers educators and school administrators for a conversation on reforming the Philippine Educational System. Ms. Marie Arrianne A. Diolingo, CYM Executive Officer facilitated the exchange for the Visayas cluster joined by more than 100 online participants.

PhilEd 2023 shed light on both the lights and shadows of the Philippine educational realities that in turn inspired many to relentlessly seek opportunities for educational reforms.
