The Basic Education Department (BED) Guidance and Assessment Office kicked off National Mental Health Celebration Month with a seminar focused on the theme “Mental Health Awareness, Wellness, and Available Support.” The event aimed to educate students about the importance of mental health and provide them with strategies for managing their emotions.

Rev. Fr. Rooney John G. Undar, SDB, Principal and Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the opening message. He encouraged students to regularly check on their mental well-being and introduced a simple breathing exercise for relaxation.

The seminar was led by Mrs. Rowena T. Quining, RGC (Senior High School Guidance Counselor), Ms. Miles V. Encorporado, RPm (Junior High School Guidance Associate), and Ms. Angie Ayne R. Gako, RPm (Elementary Guidance Associate). Peer Facilitators and interns from CIT-U also supported the event.

The month-long celebration will continue with Wellness Stations on October 28, 2024, offering further activities to promote mental health among students.
