In recognition of World Mental Health Day, Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) College Department held a Mental Health Awareness Day on October 9, 2024. The event featured various activities designed to promote emotional well-being and resilience among students, fostering a supportive atmosphere on campus.

The morning session began with a series of nostalgic games that brought students back to their childhood, creating a sense of joy and community. These simple yet engaging activities helped students momentarily set aside academic pressures and focus on self-care and relaxation. Following the games, students enjoyed a movie screening, offering another opportunity to unwind and reflect on mental health themes.

The event highlighted the importance of mental health as a core aspect of student life. It emphasized the need for emotional awareness and self-care while also addressing the challenges students face in balancing their academic workload with their personal well-being. By creating a space for open conversations, the College Department aimed to reduce the stigma often associated with mental health issues and encourage students to seek support when needed.

This Mental Health Awareness Day is part of DBTC’s broader celebration of World Mental Health Day, observed every year on October 10. Events like these serve as a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health, and students should prioritize their emotional well-being as they navigate the challenges of college life.

The College Department hopes that through initiatives like this, students will feel empowered to take steps towards managing their mental health, engage in self-care, and reach out for help when necessary. This ongoing commitment to mental health reflects DBTC’s dedication to providing a holistic learning environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.
