October 16, 2021, Saturday – the Salesian Youth Movement-FIS continued the Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) virtually via Zoom Meeting and Facebook Live. The event started with an opening prayer and a short fun kamustahan among the Salesian youth from different settings. The SYM Core Group prepared lots of icebreaker activities to entertain the crowd. They also played Salesian songs that broke the ice of the young people.
The said event was divided into two sessions with two speakers: the morning session with Rev. Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB, with the topic, “SYM: Moving Forward!” and the afternoon session with Rev. Fr. Rooney John Undar SDB, with the topic, “SYM: #WeLEAD!” The speakers delivered their respective webinars with enthusiasm and great content. The hosts have shown great vibe and camaraderie that carried the whole program. The Salesian youth have managed to engage actively despite internet connection problems.
The said event concluded with a holy mass presided by Rev. Fr. Vince Michael Sabal SDB. In his homily, he highlighted the idea and importance of service especially with the youth.
As Salesian youth, we are encouraged to continue our service and still connect with this online medium in the midst of a pandemic. Through difficulties, we can still rise and continue to serve the young people as part of our vision and mission. The event would not be successful without the loving presence of the Lord and young dedicated leaders. Indeed, Youth Serving Youth!
