The Parents’ Formation Day, held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, was a significant event for the school community. The day began with a solemn holy mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rooney John G. Undar, SDB, EdD, who also serves as Vice President for Academics and Principal of the Basic Education Department. Joining him were Fr. Andy Satura, SDB, Vice Rector; Fr. Ton Velarde, SDB, Vice President for Pastoral Affairs; and Fr. Lourenço Soares, SDB. The mass set a reflective tone for the day’s events.
After the mass, the program continued with an important orientation for parents. This session introduced a new international partnership program for Grade 12 students, offering them opportunities to expand their academic and personal experiences abroad. The orientation provided insights into how this program would benefit the students and enhance their educational journey.
Following this, Bro. George Vincent Celis, SDB, led a formation session focused on the theme of “Communication.” His talk emphasized the importance of effective communication within the family, highlighting the role parents play in nurturing open and supportive dialogue with their children. The session encouraged active participation from the parents, aiming to strengthen their engagement with both the school and their children’s overall growth.
The day concluded with the release of students’ grades through the school’s online system, allowing parents to review their children’s academic performance.
This Parents’ Formation Day reaffirms the institution’s commitment to fostering the partnership between parents and the school. As a Salesian community, the event highlighted the importance of family involvement in the holistic development of students, underscoring the family’s role as the foundation of both society and the Church. The event served as a meaningful reminder that nurturing students requires collaboration between the home and the school.
