Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes – The first-ever District Youth Olympics was organized last June 7-9, 2024, by the Archdiocese of Cebu Youth leaders for the young people of Metro Cebu South District 2. Parish priests and youth directors sent their young people to participate in this three-day sports fest. The parishes were grouped into four houses based on their location: The Ark of the Covenant, Morning Star, Seat of Wisdom, and the Vessel of Honor. The District Youth Olympics aimed to build friendships and connections among young people from different parishes, foster sportsmanship and camaraderie, and encourage physical activity. Various sports and cultural events were organized, including basketball, volleyball, chess, scrabble, dance palabas, larong pinoy, quiz bowl and others.

Beyond the competitive aspects, the District Youth Olympics provided a valuable opportunity for young people to showcase their God-given talents, wit, and skills. This three-day sports fest allowed them to set aside their problems and immerse themselves in an atmosphere of fun. Among the four participating houses, the overall winner of the first District Youth Olympics was the House of the Ark of the Covenant which consists of the parishes under Punta Princesa, Tisa, Pasil, Labangon, Mambaling, and San Nicolas. This gathering celebrated not only athletic prowess but also emphasized the importance of fun, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
