Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu Inc., 20 October 2018. The Family of United and Empowered Leaders (FUEL) of the Archdiocese of Cebu held its second “Barkadahay ni Pedro” last October 20, 2018 at Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu AVR, Pleasant Homes, Punta Princesa, Cebu City. Present in the event were the young people from various religious organizations including the Salesian Youth Movement – FIS who hosted the wonderful gathering.
Dubbed as “Pedro: Hero and Saint”, Rev. Fr. Arvin Abatayo,SDB, the resource speaker, shared the life of San Pedro Calungsod, his origin and his way to martyrdom. Fr. Abatayo, SDB remarked that “No one is too young to be a witness to Jesus Christ”. The talk aimed to inspire the youth to continue in their journey as young missionaries in this modern world through their respective communities.
The event culminated with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Rev. Fr. John Vernil Lopez, SDB, with FUEL Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Daniel Mata co-celebrating. It was indeed a joyful learning experience for the young people of District 8 as they got together to know more about the life of San Pedro Calungsod.
