Don Bosco, Cebu — “Called and chosen!” This was the theme for the Mission & Vocation Camp held at Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)-Cebu last October 30-31, 2018. The event was attended by more than 150 Bosconians from Grades 9 to 12, the College and TVED. The camp started with the opening remarks given by Fr. Dodoy Lopez, SDB. The main highlight was the sharing of the different vocations in life by a married couple (Engr. Lloyd and Irish Plarisan), a single woman (Ms. Annie Vic Cabije), 2 religious sisters (Sr. Meldred Ramas, FMA and Sr. Charito, FMA), and a Salesian priest (Fr. Rosmon Valenciano, SDB). Then it was followed by an open forum in which the Bosconians were given a chance to ask questions about the vocation stories of the invited guests. A short game followed which became a springboard for the group sharing and reflection. Afterwards, it was followed by a bigger group sharing in which some representatives were asked to present what transpired in their smaller group sharing to the whole assembly gathered. Then, everyone were given pieces of paper in which they were asked to write what vocation in life they are inclined to at that present moment. Towards the end, there were presentations from the different departments based on a particular thing given to them by the organizers of the activity. The camp ended with a short goodnight talk by Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB. Then, everyone went to rest at their designated places within the campus. The camp was indeed an opportunity to get to know the participants’ particular calling in life as they also learn from each other’s experiences.
