Choirs and Musicians receive Liturgical Formation

July 13, 2024, Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes – The members of the Music Ministry of this Parish, both choirs and musicians, received their second formation in liturgy through Fr. Amelito “Mel” Racelis, SDB, SLL, who gave the talk on “The Role of Music in the Liturgy”. This session is one of the four-part On-going Formation Program for the Music Ministry.
In his talk, Fr. Mel gave seven liturgical guidelines on the use of music and singing inside the Holy Mass. He also led the attendees into understanding the principles of the liturgy as outlined by Vatican II and presented to them the beauty of Gregorian singing. At the end of the talk he gave them practical tips on how to maximize their ministry, participation and prayer while serving the mass.
