Last September 8, 2023, Friday, during the Solemn Vespers on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, nine (9) young men were accepted to the Prenovitiate. The Prenovitiate is a 1 one-year program where a candidate formally begins his formation in the Salesian consecrated life.
The Prenovices from the FIN Province are Nicolo Lorenzo Tapang, Niño Roxas and Eugene Caraguian, and from the FIS Province are Anjoe Dayday, Julieto Cosep Jr., Jules Anthony Bagay, Olsen Pasahol, Jay Sajurga, Jeneric Lambong and Glenn Brian Justado. The Rite of Acceptance to the Salesian Prenovitiate took place at the Shrine Chapel of St John Bosco the Dreamer, Lawaan III, City of Talisay, Cebu, the Philippines. Rev. Fr. Adrian Mendoza, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Formation Center and the Prenovitiate Director welcomed the new Prenovices. They received a cross to remind them of Christ’s protection and merciful love as they formally start their Salesian formation.
During dinner, Prenovice Niño Roxas from the FIN province gave his gratitude speech on behalf of the prenovices. Since they were accepted on the Feast of Mary’s Nativity, the Prenovices rendered a song presentation entitled “This is the Age”. This is part of the repertoire of a musical play that depicted the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Fr. Joel Camaya, SDB, was the composer. Prenovice Anjoe Dayday made the choral arrangement.
