Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu (DBTC) hosted the inaugural FIS Research Congress on May 11, 2024. The congress featured 18 paper presentations (Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed Methods Research) from four Salesian institutions in the province – Don Bosco Formation Center-Lawaan (DBFC-Lawaan), Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias (DBTI- Victorias), Saint Louis School of Don Bosco-Dumaguete (SLSDB-Dumaguete), and Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu (DBTC-Cebu).
The Congress kicked off with a keynote address by Dr. Genaro Japos, Founder and President of the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Inc. Dr. Japos stressed the importance of research in driving societal transformation. Moreover, a panel of experts evaluated the research papers. The panel included Dr. Carmen C. Menes (Research Director, La Consolacion College Bacolod), Ms. Jhen A. Gopez, MAEd (Deputy Executive Director, Don Bosco One TVET Philippines), and Ms. Marie Arrianne A. Diolingo, MAEd (Executive Officer, Commission on Youth Ministry – Philippines South).
