After almost 4 years of long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Intramurals, at last, officially
made its return last October 13! It was officially declared open by Rev. Fr. Rooney John Undar, SDB (VP for Academics), with the theme: “The strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf.” A holy mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Godofredo Atienza, SDB, at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes to officially open the activities. A parade to Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu followed where the Intramurals formally begun with the passing of the torch by the Grade 12 varsity students and the lighting of the cauldron.
The Senior High School, College, and TVET proceeded with their weeklong Intramurals competition. Various sports were played among the athletes as well as special competitions such as the Yells, Banner Making competition, Muse and Sports Icon to determine who will be hailed as this year’s champions.
At the last day of the event, the Senior High School, College, and TVET cheered as they participated in this year’s cheers and yells competition, donning their own props and costumes to further showcase their team. Aside from that, muses and sports icons walked proudly with grace and poise with the them holding their team banners.
The event was then concluded with the awarding of winners with the College Department being hailed as this year’s over-all champion for the Intramurals 2023, with the Grade 12 placing as 1st Runner-up, TVET as 2nd Runner-up, and Grade 11 as 3rd Runner-up. Medals and cash prizes were awarded to the students who showed exceptional skills in the different sports they participated.
May Bosconians continue to hone their talents and skills as well as remember the essence of teamwork just like how the strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf.
