May 24, 2022, Mary Help of Christians Parish and Shrine – Buhisan, Cebu City – The youth members of the Youth Center in Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu joined the pontifical mass in honor of the feast of Mary Help of Christians, patroness of the Shrine and Parish in Buhisan, Cebu City. The pontifical mass was celebrated at 4:00 PM, presided by his excellency, Archbishop Jose Palma, D.D. of Cebu together with the Bishop Antonio Rañola, DD, retired auxiliary bishop of Cebu, Msgr. Mhar Balili, PC, parish priest, and eighty-one other concelebrating priests.

This participation in the parish activities is part of the Salesian mission to bring closer our young people to their parishes and the local Church. The Salesians hope that through youth ministry, young people become educated with a consciousness of being-Church.

Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu and its youth center belongs both to the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of our Lady of Lourdes and the Shrine and Parish of Mary Help of Christians. The latter is the daughter parish of the former after pastoral works of the Salesians in the hinterlands gave birth to a fuller community of believers in Buhisan, Toong and Pamutan. The daughter parish retained the devotion to and kept as patroness Our Lady Help of Christians, a testament to the Salesian Marian devotion.
