October is the month of the Holy Rosary, a prayer that is held deeply for our Holy Mother, Mama Mary. As we hold on to our rosaries, we explore the different mysteries of each day, and each day we explore the consecrated events of that mystery, the journey of our Lord, the Son of God.
The students of DBTI have taken it upon themselves to offer their services for this event. The Holy Rosary Rally last October 24, 2023, was held inside the DBTI gymnasium where all students, Salesians, and Salesian educators gathered together to pray.
As the students and Salesian educators, who led the rosary, started to pray a student heads towards the center, holding a balloon that represented the prayer. As the rosary rally went on, more and more balloons line up, forming the shape of a rosary. A holistic and spiritual atmosphere enveloped the gymnasium as the people inside prayed faithfully. An event that brought together the hearts and minds of the people as they remember the occurrences within the life of Jesus Christ.
With solemn hearts and dignified spirits, the students prayed and completed the Holy Rosary Rally, reaching out their hearts and personal prayers to Mama Mary and to our God. In between mysteries, a reenactment occurred, and with the help of students with costumes, they made the mysteries come alive. Marian songs sung by the DB Chorale resounded inside the gymnasium, followed by the voices of the students. The LOA danced along to the songs, animating the event, along with the KOA members and chosen students to reenact the mysteries. As things wrapped up, the SYM leaders came and performed their intermission number, accompanied by our priests.
Finally, as the rosary rally ended, teachers and students who held the balloons went out into the open field of Savio Field. Accompanied by everyone, they released the balloons into the air, signifying freedom and contemplation of the prayer.
