DBYC Lawaan: Buwan ng Wika

The DBFC Youth Center-Lawaan celebrated Buwan ng Wika through its Lakan and Lakambini last August 24, 2019. The celebration’s aim was to embrace our national language and show patriotism.

The stage was graced with incomparably handsome and stunning contestants wearing Filipino-inspired costumes made out of recycled materials, used CDs, sacks, newspapers and even the leaves were brought to life when it was transformed into beautiful attire. These did not only represent the Filipino culture but also the creativity, resourcefulness and teamwork of each Youth Group.

Mixed cheers, yells and support from the different Youth Groups made the event even livelier. The thought-provoking question and answer portion showcased the brilliant minds of the youth which manifests how young people’s lives were transformed when they entered the Youth Center. Afterward, the contestants were awarded accordingly and equally recognized.

Though divided by specific Youth Groups, the event was successful as the young people worked hand-in-hand. One can see a Filipino trait that could not be taken away from us, a distinctive mark in our bloodline – PAGKAKAISA – as DBYC Lawaan posed for a group picture.
