DBYC Lawaan KOA Celebrates St. Pedro Calungsod

by Symund Josh P. Acedilla

The Knights of the Altar of DBYC-Lawaan celebrated the feast day of our patron, Saint Pedro Calungsod, on April 6, 2025. The celebration began with a movie that set the tone for a day filled with joy, reflection, and spiritual bonding. We watched the story of St. Pedro Calungsod—his faith, sacrifice, unwavering courage, and deep devotion—inspired us, especially as fellow KOA brothers.

After the movie, our KOA President, Kuya Kent Bryle, gave us time for silent reflection, which helped us relax, think, and pray. He also encouraged us to grow in dedication to service and in our time with God.

We then prayed the Holy Rosary, reflecting on the life of our Lord Jesus and our Blessed Mother, whom St. Pedro Calungsod also followed and prayed to. Afterwards, the KOA officers organized a mini basketball tournament made up of four teams. This sports activity highlighted our strategies, talents, and camaraderie on the court. Spectators cheered as the players gave their all, turning a simple event into a memorable experience of brotherhood among the KOA. The event echoed the words of Psalm 133: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
