To ensure a smooth rollout of the K-10 MATATAG curriculum for School Year 2024-2025, a
two-day training workshop was held for FIS instructional leaders from May 15-16, 2024 at Don
Bosco Technical College-Cebu. A total of 30 subject area coordinators and academic leaders
from Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias (DBTI-Victorias), Saint Louis School of Don
Bosco-Dumaguete (SLS-DB), and Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu (DBTC-Cebu) gathered
for the training facilitated by Mr. Paul Ray Mark N. Salsag.
The workshop aimed to equip instructional leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the
MATATAG curriculum and empower them to develop effective implementation plans for their
respective schools.
The first day focused on establishing a strong foundation for the MATATAG curriculum where
the participants delved into the program’s overall structure, key features, and the pedagogical
framework that underpins it.
Building on the knowledge acquired on Day 1, participants on Day 2 shifted their focus to
practical implementation strategies. Sessions tackled unpacking learning competencies,
incorporating effective pedagogy and assessment practices, and crafting learning plans.
This training workshop empowers FIS school leaders to confidently implement the MATATAG
curriculum within their institutions, paving the way for a successful educational reform.
