2024 May 24, Philippines South Province – The Salesians of this province welcomed with great joy the ordination of three new Salesian priests. Fathers Antonio Velarde, SDB and Genson Banguis, SDB were ordained through the hands of his excellency, Bishop Patricio Buzon, SDB DD, of the Diocese of Bacolod in the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes at 3:00 PM in the afternoon. As a gift to the mission in Pakistan, Fr. Barnad Alfred, SDB was also ordained through the hands of Bishop Khalid Rehmat, DD, of the Apostolic Vicariate of Quetta at Don Bosco Chapel in Quetta, Pakistan at 4:30 PM (Pakistan time).
Both events were attended by Salesian priests and brothers, the families of the ordained, and the members of the Salesian Family.
The gift of new priests is a testament of the love of God for young people and a confirmation of the relevance of the Salesian mission.
