The MHAP started as a pilot project (2010-2015) funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Don Bosco Mondo. Up to this day, the MHAP continues to deliver its interventions to CICLs from Cebu Province, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Bohol, and Negros.

Fr. Abatayo discussed the current status of the MHAP, its accomplishments in the last 7 years of program operations, lessons learned, and future directions. The highlight of the gathering was Ms. Haasler’s interaction with three of the MHAP’s success stories – a client who is now a BS Psychology student, another client who is now a skilled worker, and still another client who became a BS Criminology graduateand is now an applicant to the government’s police force.

The MHAP is looking forward to the full implementation of the program’s phase two towards the end of 2018.
