Go in Peace, Fr. Luis
Canlubang Laguna, March 16, 2019 — Holy Tuesday, the remains of Rev. Fr. Luis Badilla was laid to rest. The funeral mass was presided by FIS Provincial Superior Rev. Fr. Godofredo Atienza, with the presence of Salesians, Students of Theology, Salesian Brothers and members of the Salesian family who showed their sympathies to the bereaved family of Fr. Luis. Fr. Atienza shared the dedication of Fr. Luis to the ministry. In his agonizing moments of sickness he still showed eagerness to come back “home” to FIS after his treatments were done in Manila.
Fr. Luis was known to be a quiet worker but full of dedication in his priestly and Salesian life. And his eagerness to be back “home” was granted him in the embrace of the Father in heaven.
His sisters Malen and Myrna attested to how Fr. Luis still wanted to go back to his duties but sadly the body succumbed to severe weakness and immobility. Another sister shared how Fr. Luis was truly a loving, caring, and generous to his siblings and had organized a reunion and fellowship for them just last December 2018. Fr. Luis’ family expressed their sincerest thanks to all the Salesians of FIS whose many names they could not express during the eulogy for supporting Fr. Luis during his difficult times.
