From October 4-6, 2024, the Grade 12 Joswiak students of Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) embarked on a meaningful retreat, combining reflection, service, and bonding. The retreat began with a visit to Don Bosco Technical Institute and Mary Help of Christians Church in Victorias, followed by a warm welcome from Fr. Rosmon Miguelangelo Valenciano at St. John Bosco Parish and Shrine in Mambucal.
Upon arriving at Don Bosco Retreat House, students were prepared for two days of reflection and spiritual growth. On the second day, they stepped out of their comfort zones and immersed themselves in the daily lives of families in Purok Katugasan Dos. Welcomed by the community, the students learned about the families’ livelihood of cultivating and selling ornamental flowers. The experience gave the students a deeper understanding of the value of hard work and the lessons gained from real-life encounters.
The retreat concluded with a heartfelt session and a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Antonio Velarde, SDB. As a fitting end to their journey, the Grade 12 students spent time at Mambucal Resort, enjoying the pool and hot springs in a special batch bonding activity. This retreat not only strengthened their faith and sense of service but also created lasting memories as they approach their final year at DBTC.
