Inter Don Bosco Youth Clubs 2017

Don Bosco Philippines, South (FIS) DBTC, Cebu, November 30, 2017

288 young people from different youth clubs of the Salesian Youth Movement-SDB (FIS) Cebu District from DBTC-BED-College-DBYC-TVED, Lawaan, Lourdes, and Pasil gathered again at the Audio Visual Room (AVR) of Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu, Inc. last November 30, 2017. The Inter Don Bosco Youth Clubs,also known as iDBYC, is a yearly gathering of the Salesian youth and this year’s main goal is to rediscover the giftedness and potential of each youth to make a difference in our society and in the Church.

“I am flawed” was the topic of the plenary session. Ms. Annie Vic Cabije, the resource speaker, emphasized that people are flawed yet blessed. And in the afternoon session, there were three different topics developed. “Laudato Si” was developed by Ms. Fatima Piodos, this is to immerse the young people to the different realities in life, such as social, cultural, religious, moral and environmental concerns. She emphasized that each individual should become deeply aware of the different challenges the world is facing and prompt them to make necessary life-changing actions. And the other topic was developed by Rev. Fr. John Vernil Lopez, SDB-“Vocation”, this topic aims to equip the youth to be more objective, reflective and discerning in their thoughts and actions. Lastly, “Kristogram: Social Media in Evangelization by Mr. Marlito Cabigas, and this is to compel the young people to respond responsibly to different challenges of life. He stressed-out that like Mother Mary, to run in haste to make a difference to the life of others, especially the least, lost and the last.

In the later part, Rev. Fr. John Vernil Lopez, SDB officiated the mass and animated by the different mandated youth groups. With the grace of giftedness, Rev. Fr. Regino Carlo Godinez, SDB and Rev. Fr. Rosmon Miguelangelo conducted the confessions while the mass was going on. The whole day activity ended with a presentation per Don Bosco house. The day was filled with laughter and happy faces.
