INTER DON BOSCO YOUTH CLUBS 2018

11 November 2018, Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu. “Do not be afraid, Mary for you have found favor with God.” (Lk 1:30), was the theme of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of Don Bosco Youth Clubs. It was a beautiful event that allowed 348 youth participants from the local houses in Cebu District, to learn something and showcase their talents. The activity was organized also to celebration SYM Philippine’s 30th anniversary and the opening of the Year of the Youth.

The  SYM-FIS core group had their hands full in facilitating and controlling the crowd of young people. The participants were given the opportunity to meet new friends, interact and build camaraderie.

The first activity, patterned after the game show “Amazing Race,” taught the participants patience, obedience, communication and other values—traits that they need to develop their personality and hone their leadership skills.

Fr. Rosmon Miguelangelo Valenciano, SDB Vocation Promotion In-charge, later gave an engaging input that made the participants realize how important the message of the Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The event was concluded by a Holy Eucharistic celebration presided by the SYM-FIS Delegate, Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB and con-celebrated by the CYM-FIS Delegate, Fr. Joriz Calsa, SDB, followed by a short fellowship.

Thanks to the cooperation of the young people and the support of the Salesians. this event gives young people the chance to become effective leaders through engaging activities and talks.
