Talamban, Cebu City. The two provincial councils of FIN and FIS provinces held its first of two annual meetings at the provincial house in Cebu, 17 August 2017. Most of the matters dealt with were concerns on formation from pre-novitiate until priesthood since both provinces have seminary formation houses and have to synchronize its efforts in the nurturing of its formandi.
FIS has the Don Bosco Formation Center located in Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu which houses the pre-novitiate candidates and postulants. Also in the same campus is the Sacred Heart Novitiate which caters the novices of both provinces as well as candidates from Papua New Guinea, China province (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), and Pakistan delegation. FIN, on the other hand, has a pre-novitiate house, postulancy, and the post-novitiate in Canlubang, Laguna and the Seminaryo ng Don Bosco and Center of Studies in Paranaque for the theological studies. Both provinces decided to have more meetings to agree on certain demands of formation as well as the practical issue like the moving of the opening of the classes on the month of July next year and two years from now, on August as mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
