The Juventus Sodality of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes had their formation in catechesis, facilitated by Sr. Betchay Saban last October 21, 2023, in the Don Bosco Center for Lay and Adults, Lawaan.
During the formation, the nature, general goals, and specific goals of catechetics were discussed. This gave the members an idea of what catechetics, catechesis, and catechism are. The participants were also taught how to give an effective catechesis and what it takes to be a successful catechist.
The formation highlighted the three important features a catechesis should possess: doctrines, morals, and worship. These three should come together in order to develop a real sensitivity and love for the Word of God in scripture and to personally appreciate the Catholic doctrine. The participants were also taught the needed skills of facilitating and the steps in conducting a catechesis.
The formation concluded with the members doing a catechesis demo in which everyone was able to perform well.
