October: Missions Month and the Rosary Rally

Don Bosco, Cebu City. The month of October is the Rosary Month and the Mission month. In DBTC, when October comes, the students participate in praying the rosary daily during the morning assembly and in their classrooms during breaks. The end of the rosary month is celebrated with the Rosary Rally. The Rosary Rally started with an assembly at the Savio Square four in the morning. The procession followed after the assembly. The pathway that was followed during the procession was lit up by candles which gave the area a serene atmosphere. When the procession ended, thepraying of the rosary followed in the new gym.

The praying of the rosary is not your typical hold-the-rosary-and-pray type of prayer, this prayer was filled with the interpretative dance performances animated by the senior high school students at the end of each mystery. The Institutional Mass soon followed which was presided by Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB. At the end of the Mass, the announcement of winners for the Marian Altarina Contest, which was the making of mini altars of Our Lady inside the classrooms, and the Mission Fund Drive, which was a fundraising for the benefit of the Salesian Missionsfollowed The Bosconians were then dismissed thankful for the opportunity given to them to thank the Lord and our Blessed Mother for the whole month.
