The Salesians of Don Bosco, Philippine South Province all converged in Don Bosco Liloan to celebrate the 2017 edition of the Province Assembly Day or fondly shortened as PAD. The celebration was just after the birthday day of Rev. Fr Godofredo Atienza, SDB, the FIS Provincial Superior.
The Salesians, the lay staff and the young people felt much family bonding as the theme of this year’s gathering encouraged— Siamo a Casa con te (I am at Home with you).
The day began with a Solemn Mass with Fr Provincial as main celebrant. It was beautifully animated by the students of the school. Fr Provincial cornered on the familial theme “as we are all one big family and love is there to work in us and for us to work on.” After a delightful break with tasty Liloan treats, a program was held for everyone to enjoy— a Marching band welcome, songsters and dancers arrayed by the students themselves and especially of the boys of the Boys Home, plus, an unexpected production that also surprised the Salesians who all got on their feet to dance. The program was capped by a giving of recognition to all the Jubilarians and the celebrating Salesian Parishes that have served the faithful for many years.
In the afternoon, after a joyous lunch, attendees had a very heart-warming encounter with the boys of the center. It was one of openness and cheers— what an honor it was for each Salesian to have a special moment with a boy from Boys Home. Before the day ended, everyone was all in for fun games and sports regardless of age and size. Indeed one can truly say, Siamo a Casa con te (I am at Home with you)!
