Salesian Economers Gather for Annual Meeting, Focus on Sustainability and Asset Management

Economers from various Salesian institutions across the province gathered at Don Bosco Provincial House on April 23, 2024, for their annual meeting. The meeting focused on stewardship, sustainability, and best practices in managing assets.
The program began with an input from Fr. Fidel Orendain, SDB, FIS Provincial Superior who highlighted the province’s proactive approach to caring for its confreres, staff, natural environment, and infrastructure. He also elaborated on the province’s initiatives toward sustainability. Following Fr. Orendain’s talk, Fr. Mike Samaniego, financial administrator of the Diocese of Lipa, delivered a session on managing asset portfolios.
Moreover, the afternoon session included the following topics for presentation and discussion: compliance report by Fr. Adriano Satura, SDB, Facilities Management Manual by Fr. Mario Baclig, SDB, and updates on the FIS projects by Ms. Leah Samson. The meeting concluded with a session on cybersecurity and digital asset management for economers, led by Fr. Keith Amodia, SDB.
The annual economers’ meeting served as a platform for knowledge sharing, and collaborative reflection moving towards a more sustainable FIS province.
