Salesian Educators Join CEAP-CEPA Teachers’ Congress 2023

Over 600 pre-elementary and elementary teachers from various Catholic Schools in Cebu gathered for the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines-Cebu Elementary Principals’ Association Congress on January 19, 2023 at St. Theresa’s College. Delegates from Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu with Fr. Wilbert Dianon, SDB(Principal) and Mrs. Marichu Librea (Elementary Assistant Principal) and Lourdes Kindergarten School with Mrs. Fe Esneralda Mahinay (Coordinator) attended the Congress with the theme: “Catholic Educators: Embracing the Challenges of Synodality with Renewed Faith and Vigor.”
The congress started with the Eucharistic Celebration celebrated by Fr. Jesper John Petralba, Chairman of Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Catholic Education and concelebrated by other priests present. The Plenary Talk presented by Fr. Narciso Cellan, Jr. SVD, President of University of San Carlos and CEAP Region VII Trustee highlighted the morning session.
For the afternoon program, concurrent sessions on the respective subject areas were carried out. Fr. Rooney John G. Undar, SDB, Youth Ministry Delegate and DBTC Vice-President for Academics gave the talk on Classroom Reimagined: Life Skills Education in Preschool to the Pre-Elementary participants. Moreover, Mr. Miguel Ryan Prado, DBTC SHS Teacher and Core Subject Coordinator shared his talk on “Unlocking the Potential of Gen-Z Through Transformational Education” to the MAPEH Cluster.
At the end of the day, teacher-participants and school administrators alike were reminded of the pillars of Catholic Education. Each one then, shall go back to their respective assignments with renewed commitment as Catholic-Salesian Educators.
