Salesian Youth Director Leads Young Volunteers to the Frontlines
News from Salesians in India (INK Province)
Bangalore, India – Fr Anil D’sa, a Salesian of Don Bosco of Bangalore and Director of Indian Catholic Youth Movement, in collaboration with the Sneha Charitable Trust (Camellian Fathers) has motivated young volunteers to be Covid Warriors in the hospitals of Bangalore city. Fifty volunteers including religious brothers and sisters are working in different batches in the hospitals.
The Covid Warriors are trained by medical experts to assist the nurses and doctors. They serve food and medicine to Covid patients in the general wards and even under Intensive Care, assisting them to washrooms and carrying out chores for the over-burdened nurses.
They truly bring joy and consolation not only to the patients but also to the frontline workers who labor day in and day out for the wellbeing of the patients. In fact, they have themselves become frontline workers.
