Solemn Investiture

Don Bosco Formation Center — Cebu, the Philippines

Last 22nd of April, 2018, the Fortified by Christ Novices received the cassock and Crucifix as external signs of their religious profession from the hands of the Provincial Superior of Philippine South Province (FIS), Fr. Godofredo Atienza, SDB. The Solemn Investiture was held at the Main Chapel of the Don Bosco Formation Center. The newly invested novices hail from four different Salesian provinces of the EAO Region. There were three from the Philippine North Province (FIN), Nov. Ricky Evangelista, Nov. Jerick Magsino and Nov. Daniel Drew Matias who will profess as a Salesian Brother; two from Papua New Guinea-Solomon Islands (PGS) Vice Province, Nov. Pio Ehava and Nov. Conrad Vamilat; one from FIS Province Nov. Michael James Wenceslao; and one from China (CIN) Province Nov. John Ling Yan. The Holy Eucharist was concelebrated by many Salesian Priests, including the Provincial Superior of PGS Vice Province, Fr. Alfred Maravilla, SDB, Fr. Remo Bati, SDB, the official representative from the FIN Province, Fr. Philip Lazatin, SDB, the Novice Director, their other formators, Fr. Amelito Racelis, SDB, the Rector of the Formation Center and Salesian Priests. The Holy Eucharist was animated by the incoming novices, prenovices, and aspirants. It was well attended by various groups of the Salesian Family, Salesian Clerics and Brothers, Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils and Lay Mission Partners included. The Solemn Investiture was made more memorable because it was graced by the families and closest friends of the candidates who were invited for the solemn occasion. The celebration was capped with a simple luncheon at the Pilgrim Center.
