SYM FIN-FIS National Coordinating Team Joint Meeting

The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) FIS & FIN National Coordinating Council with Fr. John Vernil Lopez, SDB and Fr. Juvelan Samia, SDB the SYM in-charge of the South and the North provinces respectively convened once more at Lourdes Shrine, Family and Life Center, last Saturday August 19, 2017.

The joint meeting was carried out to discuss the road map for the forthcoming 30th Anniversary of the Salesian Youth Movement – Philippines in 2018 and the common concerns pertaining to the young people in both provinces, namely:

1. The plan to revisit the SYM Vision-Mission

2. The crafting of common formation program for youth ministers/animators and youth

3. The participation of different events to collaborate with other youth ministries and organization.

4. The formulation of a three year common plan for both the SYM FIN and FIS.

The fruitful meeting ended up with a group bonding, camaraderie, and deepening of friendships through a tour of significant places in the Southern part of Cebu the following day. Everybody from the National Coordinating Team was looking forward to the next joint meeting to be hosted by the North Province this December 9-10, 2017. Truly, the spirit of St. John Bosco is alive!
