The Philippines South Province (FIS) welcomed a new Salesian through the Pakistan Delegation, Cleric Sunil Iqbal Khokhar, SDB.
In 2021, circumstances brought Bro. Sunil to the Simon Srugi Novitiate House of the South West Africa Province (AOS) under the guidance of Novice Director Fr. Damian Akintemi Taiwo, SDB. Together with him were 12 others from Ghana, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Central Africa. Their Novitiate formation culminated last September 8, 2022, when they made their first profession as Salesians of Don Bosco.
In the Mary Help of Christians Parish at Sunyani, Ghana, the AOS Provincial Superior, Fr. Denis Soro, SDB, received the new Salesians through temporary vows. With him were 25 priests and other religious who witnessed the event. The FIS Province sent a representation through the Vice Provincial, Fr. Amelito “Mel” Racelis, SDB. Fr. Mel had been Bro. Sunil’s Rector during his time as an aspirant and prenovice in Don Bosco Formation Center, Lawaan, Talisay, Philippines, from 2018-2020.
