The Gift of Priesthood

On the feast of Our Lady, Help of Christians, the Salesians of the Philippines South Province (FIS) celebrated the ordination to the Sacred Order of Presbyter of 3 confreres— Rev. Fr. Keith Amodia, Rev. Fr. Keith Belciña and Rev. Fr. Vince Michael Sabal.

Held at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, the ordaining Bishop Most Rev. Pat Buzon SDB DD, Bishop of Bacolod, together with Bishop Antonieto Cabajog DD of the Diocese of Surigao and some 50 Salesian and diocesan priests, welcomed the ordinandi as priests of Christ.

These new priests begin their ministry inspired by the Scripture passage, “Yet I live no longer but Christ lives in me.” The ordaining bishop counseled them by saying that being conformed to Christ means being crucified with Christ. The bishop further reminded them that only in total dependence to God can they realize Corinthians 2:20.
