February 4, 2024, ArchSOLL, Cebu City – The night was filled with music and songs in honor of our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Lourdes. Nine different parish choirs and music groups rendered a Marian repertoire in her honor as part of the novena days celebrations towards her feast on February 11.
The Parish Music Ministry is composed of different choir groups who regularly serve the Sunday masses. Ranging from youth groups to professionals, these groups help animate the liturgy. This time, the groups gathered to serenade music lovers and parishioners.
The Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cebu City is known for its strong culture for music and has produced many artists and musicians for the local Church and the city. The initial labors of the late Fr. Jose Bosch, SDB, whose program includes music, especially the Rondalla, has since and continuously borne fruit since more than 60 years ago.
Fr. Lamberto “Jhun” Paradiang, Jr., now the parish priest, continues this legacy for music. In his good night talk to the participants and attendees, he pointed out that music is one of the most powerful expressions of devotion. He thanked everyone for their service in the parish and encouraged them to use their talents to spread the devotion to our Blessed Mother.
