Youth Ministry School: CARE 101

Don Bosco Retreat House, Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu, August 11-12, 2018

Forty-five leaders coming from different Don Bosco youth centers, and neighboring parishes and organizations attended the weekend Youth Ministry School module on CARE 101 which is a general orientation of new leaders to what youth ministry is all about. The organizers, the Commission on Youth Ministry (CYM) with its sector, The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM-FIS), facilitated the group using the Church’s pastoral cycle for its presentation particularly the RECOGNIZING, INTERPRETING, AND CHOOSING which in the old times is known as the SEE-JUDGE-ACT method.

The contents of the seminar-workshop is as follows:

2. Youth studies.
3. What is youth ministry?
4. Paradigms of youth ministry
5. Profile of a youth minister
6. Settings for youth ministry

The days of the CARE 101, which is an acronym based on the gospel of the Emmauas (Luke 24, 13-35) and the first of the series of three modules, where intertwined with sharing, group work, and role-playing for internalization.
