Salesian Youth Movement Revisits its Mandate with the Provincial Superior
by: Jayriel Cui, Secretary, SYM-FIS Core Group
28 May 2022, the Salesian Youth Movement Core Group, together with the newly appointed SYM Core and Council, had their courtesy meet and greet with Fr. Fidel Ma Orendain, SDB, FIS Provincial Superior. The meet and greet took place at the provincial house in Talamban, Cebu City. Fr. Provincial gave his inspirational message and proactively challenged the Core Group: “form more Salesian youth leaders who will become one of the leaders in the city or in the country, create leadership formation events, and more vocation.”
To become a Salesian youth leader, the challenge to do things extraordinarily well is not that difficult because a leader believes that there’s a huge growth in facing challenges. The pandemic is not a reason to hinder them in creating and initiating activities that can be an avenue in gearing towards life after the new normal.
The core group had the chance as well to present to Fr. Provincial some of the proposals and the upcoming youth activities for the SY 2021-2022. The meet and greet ended with a delightful mood as they have received a very good news coming from the provincial himself to the Salesian Youth Movement.
